Hatokoti Temple: Shiva and Shakti Tirtha

   The Hattkoti temple should be called the beautiful dimension of architecture and sculpture. Hatkoti Temple in Jubbal, near Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, is actually a very ancient temple. 
  Located on Shimla-Rohdu road, on the banks of the Pabar River, this temple is a mythological and historical as well as a religious place. The Hattkoti temple, situated in the middle of the potholes, is especially known for its Divinity-grandeur. 
   Hatkoti Mata Temple situated at a height of about 1370 meters above sea level is actually Mahishasur Mandini's ancient temple. In the temple, there is a divine-grand vision of architecture and sculpture with the Goddess philosophy. Experts believe this 10th century temple is quite unique.
  The bronze statue of Pritha 1.20 meter high is Mahishasur Mardini in the temple. The image is made from precious eighty metals. The statue is equipped with weapons. Mother Lord Riding on the lion's eyes look wonderful. The demon of Mahishasura, the monastery is seen. Along with it is the Divya Shiva Temple. 
   The ancient Shivling is established in the temple. Particularly that the door has been decorated with artistic stones. The wooden ceiling is very attractive. There are duplicate deities in it.
   Prana is prestigious in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, statues of Lakshmi-Vishnu, Durga, Ganesha and other goddesses. 
  The temple is also known by the name of mother Hatshevari. It is believed that there was a war of gods and demons at this place. 
  Experts believe that this grand divine temple was built by the Pandavas. Mata Hatkoti temple, about 84 km from Shimla, is a pilgrimage center for Hindus. 
  The distance of this place from Kufri is about 84 kilometers. There is a long series of temples on the banks of the river. Actually this place means that village is known as Hattkoti. Kavadanti is also that the Hathkoti temple was built between 6th century and 9th Century. 
   In the temple, there is a continuous philosophy of that era architecture and sculpture. Kavadanti is also that this temple was built by Adi Shankaracharya. The architecture and sculpture of the temple are originally built in classical pinnacle or tower style. 
   The peak-style touches the ancient structures. Especially that the detailed base and upper top are narrowed down here. The walls of the temple are embellished with statues and carvings. It underscores the era of architecture and beauty. 
  Founded in the middle of two grand mountain peaks, this temple and the confluence of the river are literally a special pilgrim center. Particularly in April, a grand fair is organized here.
   During the fair, the devotees and the local residents give rice and walnuts to the daragas. Since this period is rice and walnut crop. It is believed that offering is offered to Mother Durga. Particularly that the temple of Hattkoti Mata is a religious place, while the surrounding area is very important in terms of tourism. 
   There is also a Kirtan house in the temple premises. There is also a restroom. There is no inconvenience to remote tourists. Experts believe this is a unique place. The reason Shiva and Shakti are sitting in one place. 
  The best time to visit the temple or its surroundings or the picnic is from October to March. Although to enjoy the snowfall, the best of the time of November to February is the best.

Shimla Airport is located in Jubbarhatti. The nearest railway station is Shimla Junction. Visitors or pilgrims can also visit the Hatkoti Temple via the road.
