  It is believed that 12 days of the gods are 12 years of human life. Therefore, the Kumbha festival is held in 12 years. Legend has it that there are 12 kumbha in 12 years. Of these, 8 kumbh is in Devlokan.
 The remaining four kumbh are in the earth folk. The god of gods receives the reward of the kumbha. In the same way man gets the reward of the kumbha man.
