Legendary belief is that the extraordinary significance of kumbha comes from entry into kumbha and entry into the Sun Aries. In the Haridwar, which is located in the planets, the water of the Ganges has special significance.
Experts believe that during the period of Kumbha festival, the Ganga water becomes nectar. kumbha bathing makes the conscience holy and calm.
There are many beliefs and traditions on the Kumbha festival. The mythological belief is that the nectar drop from the Amrit Kumbh, obtained from the sea churning of Dev-demons, is about to fall.
It is believed that this nectar was dropped in Allahabad, Nasik, Ujjain and Haridwar. Therefore, the place of the elixir is organized in the place of Kumbha Parva.
According to the story, after the curse of Maharishi Durvas, Indra and other devas began becoming weak, the demons attacked and defeated the Gods. Gods went to Lord Vishnu.
All the narrations were told. Lord Vishnu had given chanting of Kshirsagar and giving advice to the deities to remove nectar.
In consultation with Lord Vishnu, the deities churned through the treaty with the demons and brought nectar. Upon leaving the Amrit Kumbha, the son of Indra, Jayant Amrit, flew into the sky with a calk. On the orders of demon guru Shukracharya, demons followed Jayant in the sky.
Thereafter, there was a continuous war for 12 days in Gods and Demons for receiving nectar urn. In this fierce battle, some drops of nectar fell in Allahabad (Prayag), Ujjain, Nasik and Haridwar.
It is believed that 12 days of the gods are 12 years of human life. Therefore, the Kumbha festival is held in 12 years. Legend has it that there are 12 kumbha in 12 years. Of these, 8 kumbh is in Devlokan.
The remaining four kumbh are in the earth folk. The god of gods receives the reward of the kumbha. In the same way man gets the reward of the kumbha man.
Kumbha Parva is organized at the place where Amrit drops fall. Kumbha Parva is considered as the place of salvation. Moksha is attained by devotees in bathing a Kumbh.
