So this place is recognized as Shakti Peeth. According to legend, the daughter of king Daksha Uma was married to Shiva. Shiva did not like Daksha Prajapati. Despite this, they could not avoided the urgency of the deified Gods. Not wanting, therefore,
Daksh married the daughter to Shiva. On the occasion of organizing the yagya, King Daksh invited all but the daughter and the son-in-law did not invite Shiva. The daughter, Uma, came to join the yagya, but after seeing the disrespect of her husband Shiva, Uma jumped into the same sacrifice and offered her that in the next life too, Shiva would be her husband.

Shiva got to know that if Uma jumped into the yagya and took an oath, Shiva's anger was not affected. Shiva and his Ganpas destroyed the sacrifice and sacrificial place.
