Pavagadh Shaktipeeth: Wonderful and Unique

    Pavagadh Shaktipeeth should be called wonderful and unique. Yes, Pavagadh Shaktipeeth is the center of immense faith of Hindus. In fact, this Shaktipeeth is dedicated to Mother Kali. 

   This divine-grand temple at Champaner in Gujarat province of India is considered to be the site of Goddess Sati. This temple of Kali Ji is one of the Shaktipeeths of the mother. Shaktipeeth is said to be the place where dead bodies of Goddess Sati fell. It is believed that the fingers of Sati's right thumb fell on this place of Pavagadh. 
   According to the Puranas, disgraced goddess Sati sacrificed her life with her tenacity in the yajna of father Daksha. Disturbed by the death of Goddess Sati, Lord Shiva visited the Brahman while praying over the body of Sati. 
  During this trip, the remains of the dead body of Goddess Sati were considered to be shaktipeeth. The place was called Pavagadh due to the toe of Goddess Sati. This place is considered very sacred. This Shaktipeeth dedicated to Goddess Kali is quite special. 
  The divine face of Kali Ji is revered in this divine-grand temple. Only such places are found in Dev sites. This temple is worshiped in the South ie Tantric worship. It is believed that this mountain garland is related to the sage Vishwamitra. 
   It is believed that Rishi Vishwamitra did penance of Mother Kali on this mountain. This idol of Mata Kali was revered by Rishi Vishwamitra. Probably for this reason, the name of the flowing river here is also named Vishwamitri as Rishi Vishwamitra.
  It is special that this temple of Kali Ji is one of the most ancient temples of Gujarat. Located about 50 km from Vadodara in Gujarat, this temple of Pavagadh has a long range of characteristics. This temple of Pavagadh is situated on a high hill.
  Due to the temple at a very high altitude, it is difficult to visit the temple. However, the convenience of rope way has greatly facilitated the visit to the Pavagadh temple. Even after landing from the ropeway, devotees and tourists have to climb about 250 stairs.
