Omkareshwar Mahadev: The Best Pilgrimage

    Omkareshwar Mahadev has special significance in Shiva's Dvashash Jyorthing. On the bank of the river Narmada, the temple of Omkareshwar Mahadev is the Swivalhi nature.

   The specialty of this Jyotirling located in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh is that the Shivaling of this river is automatically present in the river of Narmada river.  

   Omkareshwar Nagri is also known as the best pilgrimage of Hindus. Jyothirlinga Omkareshwar Mahadev's fame is abroad. 

    According to experts, the goddess Ahilyabai Holkar used to create 18 Sahaswts of Shiva in the river Narmada after preparing and worshiping the regular mantrika. Shiva was pleased with this pooja. Ahilyabai Holkar asked for boon that he would be present at this place.  

    Since then this city has got the reputation of Omkar-Mandhata. The word Omkar is first pronounced by Shrimukh of Creator Venera. The Vedas do not even read without its pronunciation. The physical vihara of Omkar is the Omkar region. 

    There are 68 pilgrims in this area. It is believed that 33 million Gods of Hindus migrate to this area. Shastra is recognized that any pilgrimage will be done, but if Omkareshwar Mahadev does not appear, then all the pilgrimage will be considered half-complete. The scriptural belief is that the virtue and fruit which is attained by bathing in Yamuna river for 15 days and seven days in the Ganges river. From the mere sight of the river Narmada, the above virtue and fruit are attained.  

     Narmada river is also called Kotithirth and Chakrishirtha. After bathing here, the pilgrims climb the ladder and go to see Jyothilinging Omkareshwar Mahadev. The Mahadev Temple is situated at some altitude only on the shore. Shanking of Omkareshwar Mahadev is unrivaled. Shivaling is located not right underneath the summit but on the shore. Water is filled around Shivalinga. Mahadev's entrance to this temple is small.  

    It seems as if entering the cave like that. Nearly there are visions of Parvati ji. On seeing Omkareshwar Mahadev, after climbing the ladder, there is a glimpse of Mahakaleshwar Shivaling. It is located under the Shivling peak. Siddhanta Mahadev's Shivaling is established on the third floor. 

      This Shivling is also located under the summit. Gupteshwar Mahadev's Shivling is established on the fourth floor. The fifth floor is flagging of Lord Shiva from Lord Shiva.

     Twenty-four incarnations in the Omkareshwar Mahadev Tirtha area, Mata Ghat, Sita Vatika, Runri Kund, Markandeya Shila, Markandeya Sanyas Ashram, Annapurna, Vishnshala, Buddha Hanuman, Khedapati Hanuman, Omkar Matha, Mata Annandamayi Ashram, Debunkukheshwar Mahadev, Gayatri Mata Mandir, Siddagauri Somnath , Mata Vaishno Devi, Vishnu Temple, Brahmeshwar Temple etc. are visible.

        All necessary resources are available for the visit of Jyothilinging Omkareshwar Mahadev. The nearest airport is Indore. Omkareshwar Mahadev distance from Indore Airport is about 75 km. Visitors can go to Khandwa-Ratlam railway station for the visit of Lord Shri Jyotirlinga Omkareshwar Mahadev. Travel can be done by road to visit.
